Workshop

This workshop is aimed at patchwork enthusiasts who would like to learn the technique of free-motion appliqué by creating small decorative items for their home.

Discover the creative art of free-motion appliqué and create a unique patchwork project to decorate your home. In this workshop, you will learn how to appliqué fabric motifs freely with your sewing machine.

Please bring 

  • Your sewing machine (with free-motion quilting or darning capability)
  • Free-motion or darning foot
  • Patchwork cotton fabric for the background, approx. 30 × 30 cm
  • Scraps of patchwork cotton fabric
  • Stabilizer (embroidery backing), approx. 30 × 30 cm (evtl. available for purchase on-site)
  • Sewing threads in various colours, erasable fabric marker or pen, glue stick
  • Basic sewing supplies (scissors, hand-sewing needles, pins, etc.)

Tip

For ​“sewing machine beginners” we offer the sewing machine guide certificate ​“Licence to sew” with Anne-Marie Herckes, the sewing course ​“Step by Step” with Natercia Rebelo or the sewing course ​“Finish your stuff” with Sophie Dewalque. Infos

Since her childhood, Malou Kemp has been attracted to the art of threads and discovered her passion for patchwork about 15 years ago. Since then she has participated in several exhibitions and teaches various techniques in courses and workshops.
